Since I have not yet figured out what exactly I want this blog to be about, today I am going to write about a Denton tradition and perhaps throw in a couple of nuggets as I go along. Yesterday, April and I along with one of her friends from High School, Sara McCormick, participated in one of Denton's traditions. No, not smoking pot, but it's
Wassail Fest. What is wassail you may ask? Essentially wassail is a hot apple cider drink mixed with spices. Of course you can get different variations, but it boils down to the fact that it is yummie goodness. It's held at the town's square, which is a beautiful historic area that has lot's of shops, bars, and a great old fashioned ice cream parlor called Beth Marie's. It was a lot of fun, we went round to the different shops who handed out free samples of their wassail. It was delicious. Along with free wassail, there was live music and food stands. We had a lot of fun and I look forward to next year's Wassail Fest.
